Cerium Mischmetal, also known simply as Mischmetal contains a combination of rare earth metals - predominantly Cerium and Lanthanum. It is widely used to make Ferro Silicon Magnesium and in the preparation of virtually all rare earth elements. It is also used to produce ferrocerium which produces hot sparks and is used as the "flint" ignition device of many lighters and torches.
Mischmetal or cerium mischmetal is an extremely reactive substance and forms alloys with a variety of elements. Due to its properties, it is used as an additive in the steel and foundry industries, mischmetal binds oxygen and sulphur and, as an alloying metal, improves casting and flow properties.

Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.
