Gadolinium Oxide (Gd2O3) Evaporation Material

Product Code : EM-Gd2O3-5N-Cu

Gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) is a ceramic material commonly used for evaporation in physical vapor deposition (PVD) processes. The basic properties that make it suitable for evaporation include a high melting point (3050 °C), low vapor pressure, and low thermal conductivity. Its light yellow-brown color and relatively high index of refraction (2.2) also make it suitable for use as a high-contrast spacer in multilayer optical coatings. Gadolinium oxide can be evaporated using electron beam evaporation, resistance evaporation, or other thermal evaporation methods, and produces a bright, orange/yellow/brown color with a moderately high emissivity. It can also be used to produce doped layers of various elements and compounds, such as gadolinium silicates, to create additional optical and magnetic properties.
