Gallium sulfide (GaS) is a semiconducting material used as an evaporation source for organic light emitting diodes, solar cell junctions, p-n junctions, and other electronic applications. The material has a melting point of 1420°C and is available in both crystalline and amorphous forms. GaS has high electrical conductivity and is easily deposited onto substrates, making it ideal for thin-film applications. It can also be used as a buffer layer between other films to create p-type and n-type layers in a semiconductor device. GaS can be evaporated using either thermal evaporation or electron-beam evaporation, both of which are frequently used methods in the semiconductor industry.
