Product Code : EM-GeTe-5N-Cu
Germanium Telluride (GeTe) is a compound of the elements germanium and tellurium. It is a material often used in vacuum evaporation and thin film deposition processes. It has been widely used for decades in the production of semiconductor and optoelectronic devices such as diode lasers, detectors, and modulators. Germanium Telluride has a melting point of 1063 °C and a boiling point of 2550 °C. It is a soft, white, brittle solid with a density of 6.45 g/cm3. Germanium Telluride has excellent optical and thermoelectric properties with high transmittance in the visible and infrared regions of the spectrum. It is also a good electrical conductor with a high thermal conductivity and a relatively low heat capacity. Germanium Telluride can easily be evaporated in a vacuum or under a high-temperature reducing atmosphere (such as hydrogen). It is also possible to use GeTe in sputtering deposition systems.
