Product Code : EM-ZnSe-5N-Cu
Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) is a wide gap II-VI semiconductor material and is used for producing windows, lenses, prisms, and mirrors for infrared spectroscopy and laser applications. A thin film of ZnSe is deposited onto a substrate, typically by physical vapor deposition (PVD), also known as evaporation. When heated, the ZnSe material evaporates off a heated source material such as an evaporation boat or crucible and then is deposited onto the desired substrate. The substrate is usually heated before the deposition, to promote the growth of the ZnSe thin film and reduce any formation of pits in the ZnSe film. ZnSe thin films can be deposited using thermal evaporation or electron beam evaporation.
