Alumina Foam

Product Code : FO-Al2O3-NN-CU

Aluminum Oxide Foam is low density permeable material with numerous applications. The defining characteristic of these foams is a very high porosity, typically 75-95% of the volume consisting of void spaces. Ceramic foam is often used for thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, adsorption of environmental pollutants, filtration of molten metal alloys, and as substrate for catalysts requiring large internal surface area.

Foam ceramics are the third generation porous ceramics, which are newly developed after ordinary porous ceramics and honeycomb ceramics. Foam ceramics can form with many twists and turns of numerous tiny holes, which have many advantages such as high strength, high temperature resistance and good filtration and adsorption. They can be widely used in metallurgy, casting, chemical industry, environmental protection, light industry food and energy saving. The porosity is more than 80%, the tensile strength is 2.2MPa, the softening temperature is more than 1500 ℃; the materials are aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide and silicon carbide. The special-shaped products can be prepared according to the needs, with small specific gravity, corrosion resistance and erosion resistance

Applications of Alumina Foam

Aluminum oxide Ceramic form Filters are mainly used for filtration of aluminum and aluminum alloys in foundries and cast houses. It can effectively remove inclusions, reduce trapped gas and provide laminar flow when molten aluminum filtrated. Alumina Ceramic foam Filter is developed as a new type molten metal filters to decrease casting flaw in recent years,

Ceramic foam is often used for thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, adsorption of environmental pollutants, filtration of molten metal alloys, and as substrate for catalysts requiring large internal surface area.

Packing of Alumina Foam

Standard Packing:

Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.

ATTs’ Alumina Foam is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition.
