ATT produces metallic Gadolinium Ingots with the highest possible density. Ingots are generally the least costly metallic form and useful in general applications. Our standard Ingot size is nominally 2-3 cm x 3-8 cm x 6-12 cm. Materials are produced using crystallization, solid state and other ultra high purification processes such as sublimation. ATT also casts any of the rare earth metals and most other advanced materials into rod, bar, or plate form, as well as other machined shapes and through other processes such as nanoparticles and in the form of solutions and organometallics. We can also provide pieces and shot in smaller ranges. Typical and custom packaging is available. We also produce Gadolinium as rod, pellets, powder, pieces, disc, granules, wire, and in compound forms, such as oxide. Other shapes are available by request.

Applications of Gadolinium (Gd) Metal Ingot
Gadolinium Metal Gd is applied in petroleum and environment protection catalysts, mischmetal, polishing powders and Rare Earth fertilizers.
Gadolinium Metal is a ferromagnetic, ductile, and malleable metal, and is widely used for making specialty alloys, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), superconductive materials, and magnetic refrigerators. Gadolinium is also used in nuclear marine propulsion systems as a burnable poison. Gadolinium as a phosphor is also used in other imaging. In X-ray systems, gadolinium is contained in the phosphor layer, suspended in a polymer matrix at the detector. It is used for making Gadolinium Yttrium Garnet (Gd:Y3Al5O12); it has microwave applications and is used in the fabrication of various optical components and as substrate material for magneto-optical films. Gadolinium Gallium Garnet (GGG, Gd3Ga5O12) was used for imitation diamonds and for computer bubble memory. It can also serve as an electrolyte in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs).

Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.
