Hafnium nitride powder is a gray powder with a cubic crystal structure. Melting point 3310℃, microhardness 16GPa. It is fairly stable, but is easily corroded by aqua regia, concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The reaction is directly generated by hafnium and nitrogen at 900 ° C and is an important component of refractory compounds in hafnium alloys.

In most volumes, hafnium nitride is usually available immediately. High purity, submicron and nano powder forms can be considered.
