Magnesium Rods (Mg Rods)

Product Code : ME-Mg-6N-BR

Magnesium (atomic symbol: Mg, atomic number: 12) is a Block S, Group 2, Period 3 element with an atomic mass of 24.3050. Magnesium is the eighth most abundant element in the earth's crust and the fourth most common element in the earth as a whole. Elemental MagnesiumIn its elemental form, magnesium has a shiny grey metallic appearance and is an extremely reactive. It is can be found in minerals such as brucite, carnallite, dolomite, magnesite, olivine and talc. Commercially, magnesium is primarily used in the creation of strong and lightweight aluminum-magnesium alloys, which have numerous advantages in industrial applications. Magnesium-based master alloy, also known as magnesium-based intermediate alloy, is based on >99.95% of magnesium ingot, adding other high-purity metals made.

ATT specializes in producing high purity Magnesium Rod with the highest possible density and smallest possible average grain sizes for use in semiconductor, Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes including Thermal and Electron Beam (E-Beam) Evaporation, Low Temperature Organic Evaporation, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Metallic-Organic and Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD). Our standard rod sizes range from 1/8" x 1/8" to 1/4" x 1/4" and 3 mm diameter. We can also provide Rod outside this range and deposition materials for specific applications such as fuel cells and solar energy and for thin film deposition on glass or metal substrates. Materials are produced using crystallization, solid state and other ultra high purification processes such as sublimation. ATT specializes in producing custom compositions for commercial and research applications and for new proprietary technologies. ATT casts any of the rare earth metals and most other advanced materials into rod, bar, or plate form, as well as other machined shapes and through other processes such as nanoparticles and in the form of solutions and organometallics. We have a variety of standard sized rod molds. We also produce Magnesium as powder, ingot, pieces, pellets, disc, granules, wire, and in compound forms, such as oxide. Other shapes are available by request.

Applications of Magnesium Rod

Magnesium rod is a common name for magnesium anode, also known as anode magnesium rod, which is used to prevent metal liner corrosion and soften water quality of water heater.

Packing of Magnesium Rod

Standard Packing:

Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.

ATTs’ Magnesium Rod  is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition.
