Magnesium neodymium alloy is an alloy composed of alkaline earth metals and rare earth metals. It is used to improve the corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance of magnesium alloys. 

Magnesium-neodymium is one of numerous high purity rare earth alloys manufactured by ATT. As a master alloy, magnesium-neodymium can be used for grain refining, hardening, and improving alloy performance by enhancing magnesium properties such as ductility and machinability. Available alloy forms include sheets and plates, discs, foils, rods, tubes, and other shapes. ATT can produce magnesium-neodymium in various standard ratios of Mg:Nd; custom alloy compositions are also available. Advanced chemical analysis is available for all alloy products by best demonstrated techniques including X-ray fluorescence (XRF), glow discharge mass spectrometry (GDMS), and inert gas fusion. We also manufacture magnesium-neodymium in other forms such as sputtering target and foil.

Magnesium Neodymium Master Alloy Application

Mg-Nd series alloys: The ultimate solid solubility of Nd in Mg is 3.6% (560°C). Magnesium alloys containing a small amount of Nd already have good precipitation strengthening effect. Therefore, the Mg-Nd binary alloy is considered to be a typical precipitation strengthened alloy. Adding a small amount of Zn and Zr to the Mg-Nd binary at the same time can further promote the aging strengthening effect of the alloy, refine the as-cast alloy grains, and improve the properties of the alloy.

Standard Packing:

Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.
