Product Code : ME-Si-5N-SG
Silicon sponges have a high porosity - 75-95% of their volume is empty. Silicon sponges are produced by injecting gas into molten metal or by mixing a blowing agent that creates foam and stabilizes it with a high temperature blowing agent. Silicon sponges are cellular structures composed of a large number of pores. Ceramic foams are commonly used for thermal insulation, sound insulation, adsorption of environmental contaminants, filtration of molten metal alloys, and as substrates for catalysts requiring large internal surface areas. Silicon sponges are usually immediately available on most rolls. More technical, research and Safety (MSDS) information is available. Sponges' properties include low density, high stiffness, high energy absorption, low thermal conductivity, low permeability, fire resistance and sound absorption. Silicon sponges are used in a wide variety of potential applications, including heat exchangers, energy absorption, flow diffusion, and lightweight optics.
ATT is a professional supplier of silicon sponges, and we also manufacture tablets, balls, ingots, balls, sheets, powders, rods, threads, sputtering targets, and many other forms and custom shapes. Other shapes are available upon request.

Product Information
ATT specializes in the production of high purity silicon strips. ATT also casts any rare earth metal and most other advanced materials into bars, rods or plates, and other mechanical shapes, and in solution and organometrics through other processes such as nanoparticles. We also produce silicon rods, silicon ingots, silicon powder, silicon wafers, silicon wafers, silicon pellets, silicon filaments and silicon oxides. Other shapes are available upon request. Silicon used for solar energy consists of thin film layers of P-type and N-type silicon, which can be deposited with AE solar energy silicon. Silicon-strpsed photovoltaic cells (PV cells) for solar energy are made from a negatively charged or N-type silicon layer beneath a positively charged or P-type silicon layer. See Safety Information.

Packing of Silicon Sponge
Standard Packing:
Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L)s quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.
ATTs’Silicon Sponge is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition.
