Tantalum is a chemical element with the symbol Ta and atomic number 73. Previously known as tantalium, Tantalum is a very hard, ductile, lustrous, blue-gray transition metal that is highly corrosion-resistant.
Tantalum Foam (Ta Foam) is a porous 3-dimensional structure made of tantalum. Due to the nontoxic, biocompatible, good corrosion resistant, and high thermal conductive properties, Tantalum Foam is often used as one of the porous materials used in the clinical study. Metal tantalum features non-toxicity, high corrosion resistance, and good osteoinductive effect, so it is considered as an ideal biomedical metal material.
Tantalum Heat Exchangers are generally immediately available in most volumes, including bulk quantities. ATT can produce materials to custom specifications by request, in addition to custom compositions for commercial and research applications and new proprietary technologies. ATT also casts any of the rare earth metals and most other advanced materials into rod, bar or plate form, as well as numerous other machined shapes and in the form of solutions and organometallic compounds. Ultra high purity and high purity forms also include metal powder, submicron powder and nanomaterials, targets for thin film deposition, and pellets for chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD) applications. ATT produces to many standard grades when applicable, including Mil Spec (military grade); ACS, Reagent and Technical Grade; Food, Agricultural and Pharmaceutical Grade; Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia) and follows applicable ASTM testing standards. Typical and custom packaging is available. Additional technical, research and safety (MSDS) information is available as is a Reference Calculator for converting relevant units of measurement.

Standard Packing:
Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.
