Product Code : AL-WRe-WRe25%-RB
Tungsten rhenium alloy Ribbon belongs to refractory materials and has good ductility and strength. Tungsten rhenium alloys have a high melting point of 3050 °C and a high temperature of recrystallization of 1900 °C which makes it used in aerospace and temperature measuring applications. The addition of rhenium can increase the ductility after the wire recrystallizes. The specific resistance, as well as vibration strength, have been further improved. It has been widely used in the thermocouple market, joining, the medical, aerospace, furnace, and heat treatment industries.
W-Re alloy is an alloy of tungsten and rhenium. One type of the alloy is low rhenium alloy with rhenium under 5%, the other is high rhenium alloy with rhenium of 20% ~ 30%. Rhenium is a rare metal, scarce and expensive. Molybdenum alloy can be added 2% ~ 5% rhenium which can improve the plasticity and strength of molybdenum. While 35% rhenium was added at room temperature, the deformation rate may reach 90%. The tensile strength, ductility and resistivity of molybdenum alloy will be improved with the increasing content of rhenium. Mo-5%Re and Mo-41%Re are usually used as thermocouple wires and structural materials in aerospace. Mo-50%Re can be used as high temperature structural materials.
Tungsten-Rhenium Wire has a density almost equal to Tungsten Wire and is commonly used in thermocouples and electronics products. Rhenium Tungsten Wires are generally immediately available in most volumes, including bulk orders. ATT can produce materials to custom specifications by request, in addition to custom compositions for commercial and research applications and new proprietary technologies.
Tungsten-rhenium alloy wire is drawn from an alloy rod composed of tungsten and rhenium, and the common rhenium content is 3%, 5%, 25%, and 26%. Tungsten-rhenium alloy wire has good electrical conductivity, ductility, and workability, and can be used for high-temperature thermocouple and cathode wire.

The phenomenon that rhenium can improve the strength of the tungsten, molybdenum, chromium and plastic is called "rhenium effect". Adding a small amount (3% ~ 5%) of rhenium increases the starting temperature of tungsten recrystallization by 300 ℃ ~ 500 ℃. W - Re and Mo - Re alloy have good high temperature strength and plasticity, they can be processed into targets, plates, wires and rods used in aerospace, aviation high temperature structure (nozzle, thermal protective screen, etc.), elastic components and electronic components.
