Tungstic acid refers to hydrated forms of tungsten trioxide, WO₃. When heated to 100-110℃, the tungstic acid will slowly be dehydrated to 2WO3.H2O. At high temperatures, nWO3.H2O changed to tungsten trioxide. Tungstic acid is soluble in hydrofluoric acid, slowly soluble in a caustic solution, and insoluble in water and other acids.

Applications of Tungstic Acid (H2WO4)
AMT is mostly used in industries as a raw material for the production of tungsten catalysts for different systems of reactions including oxidation, hydroxylation, hydrogenation, and polymerization. Ammonium metatungstate is also used in the manufacture of various petrochemical catalysts and other tungsten compounds, and it’s the main raw material for tungsten-based catalysts in refineries.
